Optic (Synapse User Interface)
Overview
Optic is Synapse’s user interface (UI). Optic is a WebUI that provides a flexible and powerful means to interact with the Synapse central intelligence system. Optic’s key features include:
Intuitive point-and-click navigation allows users to quickly get up and running with analysis tasks.
Multi-mode Storm query bar for flexible exploration of data, including Lookup mode (to easily add or search for common indicators) and Storm mode (for full access to the Storm query language).
Multiple ways to visualize data based on your analysis needs:
Tabular mode
Force Graph mode
Statistics mode
Geospatial mode
Tree Graph mode
Timeline mode
Built-in collaboration allows organizations or teams to share a unified view of Synapse’s data and annotations, including visibility into real-time changes.
Temporary analysis workspaces allow you to generate a fork of your main data view. This “scratch space” can be used for testing or to perform exploratory analysis. Once work is complete, the fork can be merged into the main view or discarded.
Dedicated tools to support loading and annotating data (Spotlight, Ingest) and generating finished reports (Stories) directly from Synapse.
Easily view and manage Power-Ups, including viewing all available Power-Ups, access to all Power-Up documentation, and one-click installation or updating of Rapid Power-Ups.
UI-based admin tools to manage:
Users, roles, and permissions.
Layers and views.
Automation such as triggers, cron jobs, and macros.
Note
Optic is designed to run best in current versions of Chrome. Other browsers / versions may work (especially if based on the chromium engine) but are not officially supported at this time.
