Synapse-PSL Admin Guide

Configuration

Synapse-PSL does not require an API key. A global configuration named default is created when the Power-Up is installed, so psl.ingest runs without any setup. For information on the Public Suffix List please visit the PSL website.

Setting the configuration for global use

Only one global configuration may exist at a time, so replacing it requires deleting the existing one first:

> psl.config.del default
Synapse-PSL config "default" deleted
> psl.config.add global_config
Synapse-PSL config "global_config" added

Creating a configuration for role-based use

Add an unscoped configuration:

> psl.config.add myunscoped --scope unscoped
Synapse-PSL config "myunscoped" added

Grant another user admin permissions to the new configuration:

> psl.config.update myunscoped --perm user visi admin
Updated Synapse-PSL config "myunscoped"

Grant a role read permissions to the new configuration:

> psl.config.update myunscoped --perm role ninjas read
Updated Synapse-PSL config "myunscoped"

Overriding the proxy configuration

In order to override the default proxy configuration in the Cortex the user must have the power-ups.psl.admin or storm.lib.inet.http.proxy permission.

When the proxy configuration is set to (false) or a URL the permission will be checked when a configuration is created/updated, and when it is used to make an HTTP request.

Dependencies

Synapse-PSL does not have any dependencies.

Permissions

Package (synapse-psl) defines the following permissions:
power-ups.psl.user : Controls user access to Synapse-PSL. ( default: false )
power-ups.psl.admin : Controls admin access to Synapse-PSL, including managing configuration. ( default: false )

You may add rules to users/roles directly from storm:

> auth.user.addrule visi power-ups.psl.user
Added rule power-ups.psl.user to user visi.

or:

> auth.role.addrule ninjas power-ups.psl.user
Added rule power-ups.psl.user to role ninjas.
